For What Remains este o serie de wargames la nivel de escaramada, plasata intr-un viitor post-apocaliptic apropiat: Streets of Ruin, Blood on the Rails si Out of the Basement. Aceasta din urma introduce factiunile Erthen si Order of the New Dawn, in cadrul campaniei omonime. Erthen reprezinta o rasa dezvoltata biologic, formata dintr-un amestec de materie umana, minerala si organica, in timp ce Order of the New Dawn cuprinde creaturi din taramul subteran straniu numit Basement. Jocul de societate este conceput pentru competitie intre 2 jucatori sau mod solo, fiecare set putand fi jucat independent ori combinat pentru a crea o naratiune extinsa. Participantii controleaza personaje din una dintre cele sase factiuni. Exista doua moduri de a juca: skirmishes si campaigns. Primele sunt partide de sine statatoare pentru o victorie rapida, fara consecinte pe termen lung, in timp ce campaniile reprezinta o serie de confruntari legate intre ele. Titlul este un scenario driven game, unde fiecare scenariu are obiective multiple, iar lupta devine adesea secundara. Jucatorii castiga prin acumularea de puncte de victorie indeplinind
