Game of Astronomy

This contains thirty-eight card, each bearing the chart of a constellation and a point value from 5 to 25, and the rule book which contains a brief story “Legends of the Zodiac”, and a set of sentences, one for each constellation card. [Adapted from the rule book.]

The cards are dealt equally to all players, except the leader who will read “Legends of the Zodiac” as rapidly as possible. When they read the name of a constellation they count to 5 rapidly. If the player holding that card calls out its name before 5 they keep it in their holdings on the table; if not, they place it in front of the player to their left. After the end of the story, players add up the points of the cards they won, and the player with the most gets a 25 point bonus. Reshuffle the deck and repeat this, rotating the leader, until someone reaches 300 points and wins, or after an agreed-on number of rounds is played, the highest score winning.

An alternate mode has the leader reading from the individual sentences of the constellations, in a randomly chosen order so players won’t know which constellation comes next.
