In diverse momente, participantii au ocazia sa cumpere produse la reducere folosind fondurile acumulate. Capcana este ca nimeni nu stie valoarea reala a obiectului, ci doar ca pretul este mai mic decat cel intreg. Dupa cincisprezece intrebari, cel cu cei mai multi bani poate cumpara un premiu scump sau poate pastra suma in speranta unui castig viitor pentru a achizitiona ceva mai bun. Dupa ce fiecare a fost gazda, cel cu cele mai multe bunuri si bani castiga acest joc de societate. Doua editii au fost create pentru seria originala Sale of the Century (1969-74), desi prima a fost retiparita cu o coperta modificata: un premiu a fost inlocuit cu un televizor, iar imaginea de pe cutie a fost decupata.
