スクラッチ オーケストラ (Scratch Orchestra)

In スクラッチ オーケストラ, also known as "Scratch Orchestra", players are collecting animal musicians for their orchestras, using an "I-split, you-choose" mechanism.

Specifically, the start player will reveal 7 cards from a deck face up in a row. The start player will also secretly look at 2 cards without revealing them to the other players. The start player adds the 2 cards face down to anywhere in the sequence of 7 cards (including before or after), but may not rearrange the 7 cards. The start player then splits the row of 9 cards into a number of sets equal to the number of players, and starting with the player to the left of the start player, each player takes one group of cards.

The cards have an "L", "R", or "L R" which shows which side of a player's Conductor card they may be placed. The game continues until the deck of musicians is exhausted. Players will earn points based upon how well balanced their orchestra is between "L" (left) and "R" (right); private goals (such as having at least 2 French Horns to the right of the Conductor); and instrument specific goals (such as 4 points for each Bass card, but 0 points if a player has the most Bass cards).
