Almansa 1707: De los Austrias a los Borbones

At three o'clock in the afternoon of April 25, 1707, in the fields of Almansa, the differences between the European powers fighting, when Carlos II died without descent, were resolved by the succession to the throne of Spain.

A Bourbon army of 24,000 soldiers, faced an Australian army of 17,000. Spanish, French, Dutch, English and Portuguese soldiers, among others, fought defending the interests of their dynasties.

The Spanish War of Succession brought about the end of the reign of the Austrias in Spain, giving way to the Bourbons. Undoubtedly, one of the decisive battles of the History of Spain and the History of Europe. A war that, due to the extensive conflict, could have been considered the First World War. A las tres de la tarde del 25 de abril de 1707, en los campos de Almansa, se dirimieron las diferencias entre las potencias europeas que luchaban, al morir Carlos II sin descendencia, por la sucesión al trono de España.
