Arashi-Pelikan: The Axis Attack on the Panama Canal 1941

In this "What if" WW2 game, a realistic simulation on the combined Japanese and German attack on the Panama Canal in May, 1941. Using the available and possible air units at the time,it is presumed that such an attack to disable the canal happened. It presumes that the u-boats sent to the US East Coast in December historically, were sent first to the Canal zone. Further, small amounts of Japanese aircraft were given to Peru at their request to be used in the attack and a small group of bombers were given to Ecuador, which historically had been requested. America was not at war with either country in May. The Canal zone had yet been reinforced as it was in July and afterwards. America defended with P26,P36, P40 and used B18 bombers to hunt u-boats. The radar stations were of little use. German air units include Ju87, He177, FW200, Ju52. Japanese units are Seiran, Zero, Flying boats, torpedo bombers.

Players use the Operational map and then a Tactical map for enemy air units to make there canal attacks ONE time and\or try to damage Gatun Dam, the key to the canal!
U-boats try to sink merchant ships and perhaps, CV-Yorktown which was in the canal area moving from the Pacific to Atlantic.

Scale is single aircraft and units of five aircraft, single naval units, and AA batteries. Tactical map is 400 yds\hex, Operational map is 30 miles\hex with 30 min turns. One 11x17 map, 280 counters, Gatun Dam map.
