Heroscape Master Set: Rise of the Valkyrie

The main objective varies depending on the specific scenario selected. Typically, it involves destroying all enemy figures, protecting a specific unit, or capturing a glyph on the board.

Players construct modular battlefields using interlocking hexagonal terrain tiles representing grass, rock, sand, water, and snow. Obstacles like trees, ruins, and walls are placed. Each player drafts an army of unique miniatures up to an agreed point value, placing their starting figures in their designated zones.

During each round, players secretly place numbered Order Markers (1, 2, and 3) face down on their army cards. Players reveal markers sequentially, activating the corresponding unit to move, attack adjacent or ranged targets, and use special powers governed by stats on their cards and dice rolls.

Scoring is determined by fulfilling scenario win conditions or by completely eliminating the opponent's army forces.

The game concludes immediately when a player accomplishes the scenario win condition or when one player's entire army is destroyed.

Positioning figures on higher ground grants essential attack dice bonuses. Protect fragile ranged attackers with melee screens and utilize healing glyphs or defensive terrain to sustain wounded units.
