Setup

Place 7 mouse cards in a circle, each with a string tail, and give each player 5-9 tokens. The oldest player is the 'trapper' with a plunger or microwave cover.

The rules, step by step

Setup
To set up the game, place seven mouse cards in a circular arrangement on the table, ensuring that each mouse has a string tail extending outwards. Each player receives between 5 and 9 tokens, as decided before the game begins. The oldest player is designated as the 'trapper' and takes possession of either a plunger or a microwave cover, which will be used to 'trap' the mice.
Objective
The primary objective of the game is to accumulate the most tokens by the time the game concludes. Players earn tokens by successfully evading the trapper or by catching other players' mice, while the trapper earns tokens by catching mice.
On your turn
During a turn, the trapper rolls a colored die. If the die lands on red or blue, the trapper must immediately re-roll the die. If the die lands on any other color (purple, orange, green, or yellow), all players, including the trapper, must react quickly. The players whose mice correspond to the rolled color must attempt to pull their mouse card away from the center using its string tail before the trapper can cover it with the plunger or microwave cover.
Scoring
Scoring occurs based on the outcome of each trapping attempt. If the trapper successfully covers a mouse, the owner of that mouse must pay 1 token to the trapper. However, if the trapper fails to cover any mice, or if a player successfully pulls their mouse away before it is covered, the trapper must pay 1 token to each player whose mouse escaped.
Game end
The game can end in one of two ways: either after a predetermined duration, such as 10 or 15 minutes, or when a player runs out of tokens. Once the game ends, players count their tokens, and the player with the highest number of tokens is declared the winner.
Tips
Players should practice quick reflexes to pull their mice away at the right moment. The trapper can try to deceive players by making false moves or hesitating before attempting to cover a mouse. Communication and misdirection can be key strategies for both the trapper and the mouse owners.
