Italy, 1962. The head of a local mafia family is murdered in his mansion shortly before he is rumored to announce his successor. Next to the corpse, there is only a handcuffed man. The movements of the victim's little brother and wife, as well as those of the men in the family, the fortune teller who works for the house and the prostitute who frequents the mansion intertwine over and over again until weaving a dense tapestry that hides the truth.
