Setup

Place the board, sort tiles by number stacks, place special cards and resources nearby, and give each player a starting meeple, tile, gold, and clan chief.

The rules, step by step

Setup
To prepare Glen More, place the main board in the center of the play area. Sort the square land tiles into face-down stacks according to the numbers on their backs (0 through 3), and shuffle each stack. Place the special location cards near the board along with all resource cubes, coins, and victory point markers. Each player chooses a player color and takes one starting tile (number 0), placing their clan chief on it, alongside six coins and a meeple. For games with two or three players, place a starting coin on the market track as specified in the rules. The player who is youngest takes the start player marker, and all remaining unused starting components are returned to the box.
Objective
The main goal of Glen More is to build the most successful and prosperous Scottish clan territory over the course of the game. Players draft various land tiles representing whiskey distilleries, livestock pastures, villages, and natural landmarks, integrating them into their personal grid. Managing resources effectively, optimizing spatial layout, and timing acquisitions carefully are vital to outperforming opponents and securing victory.
On your turn
Players take turns moving their meeples along the shared movement track. The player furthest behind always takes the next turn, allowing players with smaller networks to take multiple consecutive actions. Upon landing on a tile on the market track, a player must purchase that tile using coins, pay any difference if they are behind other players, and place it orthogonally adjacent to any existing tile in their personal village. Purchasing the tile then triggers the activation of the newly placed tile and all adjacent connected tiles in the same row and column, yielding resources or victory points.
Scoring
Scoring happens at specific trigger points during the game when certain tile stacks are exhausted. Players compare their standing in various categories—such as the number of whiskey barrels, cattle, clan chiefs, and village sizes—relative to the player with the fewest in that category. Points are awarded based on these relative differences, rewarding players who specialize and maintain a lead in key economic areas.
Game end
The game concludes when the final tile stack runs out and no more tiles can be placed on the central market track. After the last scoring phase triggered by the end of the tile stacks, a final bonus scoring round takes place. Players lose points for having too many whiskey barrels compared to others, and remaining resources or coins may factor into final totals before the highest score wins.
Tips
Pay close attention to adjacency when placing tiles to maximize cascading activations during every turn. Balance short-term resource gathering with long-term scoring opportunities, and monitor your opponents' tile selections so you don't fall too far behind on the movement track.
