Vinhos

Vinhos is set up by laying out the central board featuring the regions of Portugal, the bank, and the wine tasting fair tracks. Players receive player boards representing their wine estates, starting with one vineyard and one wine token, along with a supply of workers, money, wine cellars, vineyards, and barrels. Wine experts, vineyard tiles, and vintage markers are populated onto their respective tracks on the main board.

The main objective in Vinhos is to become the most successful winemaker in Portugal over six years. Players compete to produce the highest quality wine, sell it in domestic and international markets, hire experts, and submit their best bottles to three major wine tasting fairs to accumulate the most victory points by the end of the game.

Each of the six game rounds is divided into action, maintenance, and production phases. During the action phase, players place workers on the central grid to perform vital tasks like purchasing vineyards, building wineries, hiring experts, selling wine, or visiting the bank. Action spaces may require paying players or the bank depending on adjacency and occupancy. Following actions, players collect interest, pay wages, and age their wine.

Victory points are scored dynamically during wine tasting fairs held at the end of rounds 3, 5, and 6, where players submit wines matching specific vintage criteria. Additional points are awarded at the end of the game based on end-game majorities for international market barrel columns, bank deposits, remaining money, and bonuses from acquired wine expert tiles.

The game concludes automatically at the conclusion of the sixth round after the final wine tasting fair and subsequent end-game scoring calculations are fully resolved. The player with the highest total victory points accumulated on the score track is declared the winner.
